Slavia’s footballers will enter the MOL Cup home cup today in a small Prague derby against the second-league Dukla. Red and White will present itself in the first of the seven remaining finishes of the 3rd round of the competition, which was interrupted in the autumn due to the coronavirus situation in the country. The Slavs lead the first league table without defeat and are a clear favorite against the eighth team of the second league. While Slavia defeated Olomouc 3: 1 at the beginning of the spring season on Saturday, Dukla will not enter the second league until the beginning of March.
Slavia coach Jindřich Trpišovský plans to save some support and give other players a chance. “There will be changes in the line-up, we have a lot of matches in January. We have kept the staff wider due to the covid. Players who have returned from guest appearances now have a great chance,” Trpišovský indicated. The reigning league champions later specified on their official twitter account that the premiere start for Slavia today awaits quarterback Taras Kačarab and goalkeeper Jan Stejskal.
