Freiburg (dpa) – The former Bundesliga and second division coach Benno Möhlmann is the new president of the Association of German Football Teachers (BDFL). The 67-year-old, who had no opposing candidate, was elected unanimously at the general meeting of the BDFL as part of the International Trainers’ Congress in Freiburg on Tuesday. His predecessor Lutz Hangartner, who had not stood as a candidate after ten years at the helm, was appointed honorary president.
With 520 appearances, Möhlmann is a record coach in the second division. In the Bundesliga he looked after Hamburger SV and Arminia Bielefeld. Most recently, he worked for the youth academy and the scouting department of SpVgg Greuther Fürth.
