Football Bundesliga on Saturday: seven games, seven heads

Berlin (dpa) – The 8th matchday of the Bundesliga starts this Saturday with seven games. For some players there is a reunion with their former clubs.

At TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, those responsible are looking forward to the comeback of their striker Andrej Kramaric after surviving the corona infection. Manuel Neuer could catch up with Oliver Kahn at Bayern Munich, and teenager Youssoufa Moukoko in Borussia Dortmund’s dress make his debut.

FC Bayern Munich – Werder Bremen (3.30 p.m. / Sky)

MANUEL NEUER: After conceding six goals in the 0: 6 debacle in the international match against Spain, Manuel Neuer wants to set a record as the record goalkeeper of the German national soccer team in an anniversary game with the club without conceding a goal. In the 400th competitive game for FC Bayern on Saturday (3:30 p.m. / Sky) against Werder Bremen he could play for the 196th time in his Bundesliga career to zero. So far, only Oliver Kahn, who has been a board member at Munich since this year, has succeeded.

Borussia Mönchengladbach – FC Augsburg (3.30 p.m. / Sky)

TOBIAS STROBL: Tobias Strobl could hardly say goodbye to Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer after four years more beautifully than with the Champions League qualification. The midfielder moved to FC Augsburg a few months ago. The competitors are now called Rani Khedira and Carlos Gruezo, and the Bavarian also got a three-year contract with FCA. So far Strobl has played in all competitive games for Augsburg, but the 30-year-old is still excited about Borussia.

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim – VfB Stuttgart (3.30 p.m. / Sky)

ANDREJ KRAMARIC: Sebastian Hoeneß and especially Alexander Rosen never tire of emphasizing the enormous value of Vice World Champion Andrej Kramaric for TSG Hoffenheim. And indeed: with six goals in three games, the Croatian has a similarly good rate this season as Bayern’s top scorer Robert Lewandowski (eleven goals in six games). Because of a corona infection, Kramaric had to sit out for several weeks, and he should return against VfB. “He’s in good shape, I’m quite optimistic,” said Hoeneß.

FC Schalke 04 – VfL Wolfsburg (3.30 p.m. / Sky)

NALDO: Not an everyday game for Schalke’s 38-year-old assistant coach: After four years at VfL Wolfsburg and two years at FC Schalke 04, the Brazilian celebrates a reunion with Lower Saxony when his former clubs clash. The former head of defense is still an apprentice coach, but Schalke’s sports director Jochen Schneider said after the commitment: “Naldo will bring a lot of positive energy into our cabin.”

Arminia Bielefeld – Bayer 04 Leverkusen (3.30 p.m. / Sky)

LUCAS ALARIO: Of course, Lucas Alario can’t be absolutely sure that he will be able to play again from the start in the game against Arminia Bielefeld. However, seven goals this season, including three double packs in a row, speak for the Argentine, who was often only second choice under Bayer coach Peter Bosz. But with another double, Alario could go down in Bundesliga history. So far, only Lothar Emmerich (Borussia Dortmund / 1967) and Tomislav Maric (VfL Wolfsburg / 2001) have scored two goals in a row.

Eintracht Frankfurt – RB Leipzig (6.30 p.m. / Sky)

DANI OLMO: Dani Olmo was Spain’s best man in the 6-0 fiesta against Germany. Now the noble technician is supposed to break the Leipzig Frankfurt curse. RB has never won at Eintracht and Olmo knows how to score there. The 22-year-old scored his first goal for Leipzig at the beginning of February when the 3-1 win in the cup. The midfielder is set to become the X factor on Saturday night. Especially since it cannot be ruled out that this will be Olmo’s last appearance in Frankfurt. If he continues to play such a strong season, a move to a big club in summer will inevitably be an issue.

Hertha BSC – Borussia Dortmund (8.30 p.m. / DAZN)

YOUSSOUFA MOUKOKO: Again and again Dortmund. BVB currently has a number of top European talents in its ranks. Some of them are not even 20. Like Youssoufa Moukoko, who is considered to be the greatest promise of German football. On Friday he was just 16 years old, on Saturday he could become the youngest Bundesliga professional. So far, of course, the record has also been held by a Dortmund player: Nuri Sahin was 16 years and 335 days old when he made his debut.
