FNV threatens to drain carnival | Financial

The strikes must start before the carnival and continue if necessary during the festivities, according to FNV. Trade union manager Jet Grimbergen expects Heineken to feel the impact of work interruptions. According to her, the beverage producer does not have many stocks, so that less production can quickly affect the deliveries of beer and soft drinks.

Heineken can agree to the collective labor agreement conditions up to two hours on Monday. FNV demands, among other things, a salary increase of 4% per year for this and next year. If the group does not comply with the ultimatum, FNV will increase the requirements. Wages must then be increased by 5% per year.

“One-way traffic”

The beer group says they do not want to offer more than an annual salary increase of 3.75 percent. According to Heineken, that is a broad offer compared to other collective agreements in the sector. The group says it has increased its wage offer several times during the negotiations. “Up to now there has been one-way traffic,” says Heineken.

The CLA applies to around 2,500 Heineken employees. Carnival is this year from Sunday 23 to Tuesday 25 February.
