US Vice President Mike Pence and Democratic running mate Kamila Harris debated last night. In an almost empty hall in Salt Lake City, Harris and Pence were separated on stage by plexiglass and kept a considerable distance from each other. Afterwards, the American media paid a lot of attention to a fly that landed on Pence’s head and remained there for a long time.
The debate itself was very different from the one between President Donald Trump and his challenger Joe Biden last week. Then it was at times an ordinary shouting match. Now both candidates let each other speak on nine substantive themes.
