A man died this Saturday afternoon after crashing his jet ski at Miami Marine Stadium, said the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).
Along the Rickenbacker Causeway, a dark-colored Sea-Doo jet ski could be seen floating in the water, the channel said on its website. Local 10 News, of Miami.
Witnesses to the incident called it a sudden, chaotic chain of events.
The victim was rushed to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, local press said.
“We heard a loud bang, so we went there, and the guy was here, and he fell off the jet ski after hitting the wall,” said a witness who identified himself as Sammy McLeod. “Someone jumped out of the boat and tried to carry it to shore.”
An FWC officer, Ronald Washington, said they were unsuccessful in practicing first aid on the victim, a scene that was recorded by some witnesses on their mobile phones.
“My heart goes out to his family. FWC will do a full and thorough investigation,” Washington said.
So far the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is conducting an investigation to find out what caused the accident.
