Flitsmeister warns users of approaching Frisian and Drenthe ambulances – Computer – News

The Flitsmeister app now knows the current location of Frisian and Drenthe ambulances, thanks to a link with the National Server Incidents and Vehicles. In this way, the app can better warn road users when an approaching ambulance is approaching.

For the clutch has Flitsmeister signed an agreement with Kijlstra Ambulancezorg and UMCG Ambulancezorg, with which it can now follow the location of the ambulances of the two care providers live. This link is done via the LSIV of Ambulancezorg Nederland. Via this system, the ambulance personnel receive the incident information and the control room knows where all the ambulances are.

Flitsmeister users are now also notified about approaching ambulances, for which the service uses ‘third-party systems’. One of which is sireneradar, which is linked by the flashing lights of an ambulance. However, according to Flitsmeister, these systems do not have national coverage. The LSIV is. Flitsmeister therefore hopes that in the future the company will have access to all data from all Dutch ambulances, ‘something that is currently being worked hard on’. As far as Flitsmeister is concerned, motorists must also be warned in the future for other emergency services, such as the fire brigade.

When an ambulance with hazard lights comes on, the Flitsmeister user receives a warning with video and audio. This should enable the motorist to better anticipate an approaching ambulance. Flitsmeister emphasizes that the ambulance data is processed anonymously.
