Flensburg wants to implement stricter measures out of concern about the spread of corona mutations. Easing is currently out of the question, makes Mayor Simone Lange (SPD) clear.
According to Lange, the city is in talks with the state government, because it has to give the green light for planned tightening. Among other things, it is planned that by next week at the latest, only one person per household will be allowed to shop. While Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) stressed in the run-up to today’s federal-state talks that he could well imagine easing the situation in February, Flensburg is deliberately taking a different path. Lange also said that she “definitely does not see any easing steps in schools and daycare centers” until the end of February.

If necessary, put the mask on when sledding
The corona restrictions have been tightened further since Tuesday evening. Relatives are only allowed to visit their relatives in nursing homes individually and with a negative corona test. The mayor also appealed to all Flensburg residents to adhere to the applicable distance and mask rules. For example, a mask should also be worn when tobogganing if enough distance cannot be maintained. Lange also announced that more corona checks would be carried out along the city center and at the port.
Highest incidence in Schleswig-Holstein
The incidence value is currently 113 – the highest in Schleswig-Holstein. In the meantime, 170 corona mutation cases have been confirmed in the city. At least 40 of them are therefore the so-called British variant. The total number of active infections in the city was 494 as of Tuesday evening. According to the house, the situation in St. Franziskus Hospital is also serious. There are more and more – especially younger – patients who have to be ventilated, said hospital boss Klaus Deitmaring.
Flensburg is increasingly affected by the corona variant, which was initially detected in Great Britain. more
