A Flemish actor from children’s programs and films was arrested last week in an investigation into suspected child abuse. The court found the man after an undercover investigation by a Dutch journalist, in collaboration with Het Laatste Nieuws. That is what the newspapers of DPG Media write on Friday.

In a conversation that was filmed with a hidden camera by a Dutch journalist from the investigative collective ‘Free Birds’, the man claimed that he had sex with five or six boys aged fourteen. His knowledge of youth programs would have helped with that, he said. He also talked about his fantasies about much younger children and even accepted a – fake – invitation to see a 10-year-old in a hotel room. He denies everything to the police and dismisses it as a “big talk”.
It concerns a middle-aged Flemish actor. Over the past twenty years he played large and small roles in dozens of productions by Studio 100, VTM, VRT and Disney. Last Friday, the man was arrested in an investigation into suspected child abuse, which the public prosecutor of Antwerp opened after a months-long undercover operation by Het Laatste Nieuws.
The investigating judge decided not to arrest the man for the time being and is awaiting the investigation of what was seized during a search.
