Fleetwood co-founder Mac Peter Green has died

British guitarist Peter Green died in his sleep at the age of 73. Green formed the band Fleetwood Mac in 1967 together with drummer Mick Fleetwood. He was a determining figure for the breakthrough of the band.

In 1968 Peter Green wrote the hit singles “Black magic woman” and the instrumental “Albatross”. “Black magic woman” later also became a world hit for Santana. In 1970, Green left Fleetwood Mac because he was struggling with drug and psychological problems.

Peter Green released several solo albums and was also successful with his band Peter Green Splinter Group.
