Nothing to see
“In the first half it was just getting used to the equipment,” said Maria Alm section head Bruno Oberschneider after the long winter break. In a balanced game with a slight field advantage for the guests, both sides had their problems becoming one with the artificial leather. Offensive moments remained as good as non-existent. “St. Veit didn’t have anything, we had one or two half-chances. But there weren’t any top-class players,” summarized Oberschneider.

Improved performance led Maria Alm to victory
The half-time analysis by Alm supervisor Christian Lederer should have had an effect. Because after the break, the “Oima” showed a completely different face. “We were better in the game right from the start,” said Oberschneider, who was pleased about the flow of play that returned without further ado. In addition, the visiting eleven knew how to convert their dominance into goals as the game progressed. In the 53rd minute, defender Johann Herzog headed the ball into the far corner after a corner kick, in the finish Philipp Herzog gilded a counterattack to make it 0:2 (79th). “There’s still a lot of room for improvement, but in the second half we played what we’re capable of at times,” said Oberschneider, all in all, a flawless 2-0 away win.
