Flagship Huawei P50 Series Has a Big Camera with 1 Inch Sensor

Huawei showcased its newest flagship HP candidate, the P50 series, through a teaser video.

In the 45 second video, Huawei shows the appearance of the back of the P50 series which has two large camera modules.

The first module contains three cameras and the second module stores one camera whose lens size looks bigger.

The leak is that not only the lens is large but also the sensor size in the image is large.

Allegedly the size is 1 inch. Sensors of this size are usually only used in premium pocket cameras such as the Sony RX100 or Canon G7X series, and have only been found in Sharp’s cellphones.

The presence of a 1-inch sensor will make the P50 series camera shots better than other cellphones in general which usually use a much smaller sensor, as quoted by GSM Arena.

Previously, the P50 series was rumored to be equipped with a 1-inch image sensor made by Sony, namely the IMX800.

The exact specifications of the camera series Huawei The P50 itself is still unknown. In addition to a camera with a 1-inch sensor, Huawei The P50 Series will use a telephoto camera with a periscope lens and a 5x optical zoom range.

Huawei the possibility is still working with Leica to design the camera in the P50 series because under the two camera modules the names of the German lens and camera companies are listed.

Leica is known to have partnered with other mobile partners outside Huawei, namely Sharp on his cellphone which was equipped with a 1-inch sensor camera earlier.

It’s unclear which model of the P50 series is shown in the video. This smartphone may be the top model, while other models from the P50 line will have different designs and specifications.

The P50 series will likely run the HarmonyOS operating system. However, this is still not confirmed by the party Huawei, as well as the launch schedule.
