There’s a wave of violence in New York that has the city’s mayor, Eric Adams, saying that videos of music videos and drill artists should be banned. The rappers obviously rebelled against this decision and theThings took a different turn as Fivio Foreign, Maino and B-Lovee, among others, took part in a meeting with the city councilor to open the dialogue on the relationship between the drill and the outbreak of armed violence that rocked Big Apple.
“We talked a lot about drill and especially drill in New York, the links between violence and culture and I just wanted to have a conversation with the mayor”Maino said in one of the reunion posted on Instagram.
“We came with Fivio, young B-Lovee, Slow and Bucks, Bleezy and we talked about what’s really happening so the mayor can get a real perspective and a real understanding of what drill music is. We told him that we can have a real dialogue and really make things happen.”
The mayor of New York then said that the conclusions of the conversation he had with the rappers would soon be made public.

Recall that dialogue opened following the murder of several rappers who were linked to the New York drill scene.
According to NBC, shootings are up 37% in New York in early 2022 compared to 2021 numbers and that discussion with the mayor shows that rappers care. They have lost loved ones, others have been affected, still others are behind bars. There are enough elements to discuss the situation and try to improve it.
