Managing a home is not given to everyone… When he embarked on the adventure in 2013, Oscar Concepcion Rodriguez mainly saw the “financial income” side of the job, rather than the constraints. During the search in 2016, around forty residents were living miserably in more than precarious conditions at the Massimo residence, in Gosselies.

On glossy paper, the brochure of the Massimo residence promised a restaurant, private rooms, various services. When the police came to the scene in December 2016, the reality was much more chilling: the home was closed and the residents hospitalized or referred to other, more correct institutions.
The residents were crowded with two per room, sometimes a man and a woman who did not know each other … The staff was nonexistent and poorly qualified. The refrigerators in the “restaurant” kitchen were often very empty. During this time, the manager and his wife rolled coach: villa, swimming pool, Ferrari, dream vacation.
► The Charleroi Criminal Court sentenced the manager to 5 years in prison, with a probationary suspension for half.
