So far, five people have been arrested in an investigation launched by the UK Football Monitoring Unit (UKFPU) into racist attacks on players who make the penalty.
After the lost final, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka have made a number of racist posts about footballers on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. To them, Harry Kane, captain of the English national team he posted: „You are not fans of England, we do not need you.”
Captain Mark Roberts said he was shocked that these insults were committed by their compatriots against the players. Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Wednesday that the government will extend penalties in football – a ban from the stadium – to similar cases committed online. (BBC/ MTI)
