First trailer of Suicide Squad, Star Wars, the new film from the Bond stars

war of starsJames Bond and The Suicide Squad Actors have teamed up for a new film inspired by true events in black history.

The Woman King tells the story of an all-female warrior unit named Agojie who were the protectors of the African kingdom of Dahomey in the 18th century.

In the film, a new generation of warriors is led by General Nanisca, who train to fight against a force that wants to destroy their very way of life: an invasion of Europeans intent on expanding their territory overseas and colonizing the world.

Nanisca is played The Suicide Squad and How to get away with murder‘s Viola Davis while the war of stars Sequel to the trilogy by John Boyega and no time to die‘s Lashana Lynch are also part of the cast, as reluctant ruler and fellow combatant respectively. The subway‘s Thuso Mbedu also plays new recruit Nawi, who looks like she’s the character from the viewer’s perspective.

The Old Guard Director Gina Prince-Bythewood directed it, having also co-written the screenplay fatherhood scribe and reckless Creator Dana Stevens, based on a story by Maria Bello.

Alongside the trailer, it was announced that the film would hit theaters in the UK and Ireland 4 October.

Davis is very busy right now as she got her own spin-off series to reprise her DC film role The Suicide Squad‘s Amanda Waller, which she will also executive produce, while James Gunn and Peter Safran will executive produce.

The Woman King hits UK cinemas on October 4th.
