First Tournament, First Placement for Sophie Hinners and Million Dollars –

Only a few days ago it was announced that U25 show jumper Sophie Hinners is the new rider of the Holsteiner Verband stallion Million Dollar. Now the two had their first tournament appearance in Peelbergen.

Sophie Hinners and Million Dollar seem to get along well. Yesterday they were already clear in the qualifier for the final of the medium tour at the CSI2* in Peelbergen, today they started in the qualifier for the Grand Prix and got their first loop together. With a clear round in the 1.45 meter test, they finished ninth.

For Hinners and the Belgian Plot Blue son, this is a successful start to their future together. The 24-year-old had only recently been entrusted with the stallion by the Holsteiner Verband. Not the first horse from Elmshorn for the team from Hofgut Dagobertshausen. Sophie Hinner’s friend Richard Vogel had made the Verband stallion Crack Bundeschampion in September. After his basic training in northern Germany, the ten-year-old million dollar boy first went to Jos Lansink’s stable, where he was further encouraged by Frank Schuttert. With him, too, he had placements up to 1.45 meters.

Comeback for Hans Dreher

Not only Sophie Hinners should be very happy with this day. At the top of the qualification for the Grand Prix were two other German, but much more experienced couples: Felix Hassmann and Balance ahead of Hans-Dieter Dreher with Prinz.

For the latter it should be a relief to be back in the saddle. Dreher had to have an operation on his back in the fall and hadn’t been to an international tournament since October. Apparently he’s fit again now.

Fit enough to outperform Alexa Stais on Messenger daughter Messalia Blue PS, 9 years old. The new rider at the Michaels-Beerbaum stables crossed the finish line in 62.07 seconds. For Dreher and Prinz it was 61.97 seconds, and Felix Hassmann was as usual at the speed of light with Balance: 58.26 seconds.

Today’s qualification for the middle tour also went to Germany, to Marcus Ehning on the NRW state stud sire Diathago.
