First music stars known: Wen Raab invites you to “FreeESC”
Stefan Raab insists: For the second time this year there is the “Free Eurovision Song Contest”, an alternative to the well-known “Eurovision Song Contest”. Artists represent different countries and sing for victory in points. For this, the entertainer invites well-known names from the German music scene. The “Picture on sunday“reports on the guest list.
Accordingly, the pop singer Sasha should appear on the show. The 49-year-old is a well-known figure both nationally and internationally.
From rap to acapella, everything is musically included in “FreeESC”
Eko Fresh should also be part of the show, they say. The rapper took part in the competition last year, but could only get sixth place.
As a German cultural asset, Raab is supposed to bring the princes into the show. The musicians should be on stage next Saturday, May 15th. The program can be seen on ProSieben and Joyn at 8.15 p.m.
The “FreeESC” takes place in the Lanxess Arena in Cologne
This means that the show is one week before the official “Eurovision Song Contest”, which begins on May 22nd. The “ESC” takes place this year in the Ahoy-Arena in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Last year the two events ran at the same time.
The broadcaster looked for a production facility in Cologne for the “FreeESC”: the Lanxess-Arena. The venue has a capacity of almost 18,000 spectators.
In addition to the well-known artists, there is a surprise guest
Raab knows the arena, because at the end of 2018 he performed three times in front of a sold out house. The “TV-Total” band Heavy Tones will accompany the evening musically.
According to media reports, it should be next to the 16 participants also give a surprise guest.
The winner is whoever was able to convince the audience in the end. The viewers decide on the distribution of points through their calls.
After the cancellation of the original Eurovision Song Contest 2020, Stefan Raab had the idea for the alternative show.
