For the first time in Switzerland, a person in the age group of 20 to 29-year-olds died of the coronavirus, like that Tamedia editorial team reported. The BAG confirms the case. The deceased is a young man. It is still unknown whether the man belonged to the risk group. The Bern authorities were unable to provide the Tamedia editorial team with more precise information on the circumstances of the death.

A toddler who tested positive for the coronavirus died at the end of May. However, it is still unclear whether the baby died as a result of the corona virus. The investigation is still ongoing. The baby contracted the virus in Macedonia.

According to the latest BAG figures, there have been a total of 37,671 laboratory-confirmed cases since the beginning of the pandemic. The number of deaths related to Covid 19 disease rose to 1,716 on Friday.
