First batch of the Covid-19 vaccine available in 2 weeks

Russia’s Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said at a press conference on Wednesday that the first batch of the coronavirus vaccine is expected to be released within two weeks.

On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the world’s first coronavirus vaccine had been approved.

The vaccine, named Sputnik V, was jointly developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute and the Russian Defense Ministry.

Market reaction

The Russian ruble is not benefiting from the above comments and higher oil prices as USD / RUB is up 0.18% so far as it is on its way to test 73.50.

The news however, about the vaccine appear to increase the overall risk sentiment of the market.
