NEW YORK – Two boats in the Venice Marina in Sheepshead Bay caught fire Sunday afternoon and five people were injured.
The New York City Fire Department (FDNY) said firefighters rescued injured people from docked boats after the flames broke out around 4:30 p.m., but only one person was taken to the hospital. . The condition of that person was not disclosed.
Videos posted on the Citizen app show large plumes of smoke coming from the marina.
Fire chiefs are still investigating the cause of the fire, the FDNY said, and no other information was immediately available.
