The fire brigade was notified via an automatic fire alarm system after it started to burn in the battery pack of an electric scooter that was standing in a hallway.

At 12 o’clock on Monday, the Oslo police district announced on Twitter that the emergency services were on their way to Sofienberg, where a fire had been reported in an apartment building.

Both police and ambulance are on site at 12.20. According to the fire service, the emergency response was due to an electric scooter starting to burn.

– We were notified via an automatic fire alarm system and were therefore quickly on site. I have no information that there has been damage to housing, says duty commander Arvid Nordstrand at the 110 exchange to VG.

Oslo Police District informs VG that they were notified that a sprinkler system had been triggered in a block and that it was smoky in the stairs.

– It turns out that it is an electric scooter that has had smoke development. Two occupants of the apartment have probably ingested some smoke. One person is taken to the emergency room and one to the hospital for control, says operations manager Marita Aune to VG.
