Fines for traffic violations have increased in Ukraine

Fines for some traffic violations have increased by 40 and 80 times

Penalties will apply not only to drivers, but also to pedestrians and cyclists.

New fines for violation of traffic rules come into force in Ukraine. This was announced on Monday, March 15, by the deputy head of the patrol police department Oleksiy Biloshitskiy during a briefing, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine on its page in Facebook.

He stressed that the fines for some violations have increased by 40 and 80 times.

So, for drivers who have lost their license, but continue to drive without them, the fines increase 40 times – from 510 to 20,400 hryvnia. At the same time, for a repeated violation, you will have to pay 40,800 hryvnia + deprivation of rights for 5-7 years and payment for the seized car. Prior to that, they were fined 510 hryvnia.

For speeding by 20 km / h, the fine will increase from 255 to 340 hryvnia. For speeding by 50 km / h – the fine will increase from 51 to 510 hryvnia.

For leaving the scene of an accident, the fine is increased from 255 to 3400 hryvnia or deprivation of rights for 1-2 years, or admin arrest for 10-15 days

For dirty, sealed or improperly installed license plates, the fine rises from 170 to 850 hryvnia. At the same time, for a repeated violation during the year, it will be necessary to pay UAH 1,700, and earlier the amount of the fine was UAH 255.

Fines for traffic violations by cyclists and pedestrians will also increase.

So, for going to an unidentified place or at the prohibiting signal of a traffic light of a traffic controller, the fine will increase from 51 to 255 hryvnia.

For violation of the rules by a cyclist, the fine is increased from 85 to 340 hryvnia.

For traffic violations by a pedestrian or a cyclist in a state of intoxication, the fine will increase from 136 to 680 hryvnia.

For repeated violation of the rules by a pedestrian or a cyclist, the fine is increased from 170 to 850 hryvnia or community service from 20 to 40 hours.
