Hamada Anwar, a member of the Zamalek board of directors, stressed his club’s adherence to demanding the title of “Club of the Horn of Africa”, which was won by Al-Ahly in 2001.
Anwar said during his hosting on (On Sport) radio, “Restoring a right to us is an honorable matter and an obligation of the Board of Directors. It is enough for us to try even if we do not succeed, otherwise we would not have opened the file from the ground up.”
He added, “Zamalek achieved 9 more tournaments compared to 7 for Al Ahly, so did the points count in favor of some party? The African Union changed the regulations during the coming into force of the century, the terms changed in 1999.”
“We collect files and regulations in other continental federations such as the European and the Asian to present them, and we arrange our papers with a complete file that guarantees the rights of Zamalek Club,” he said.

“Whether the decision is in our favor or not, this is an honor for us and we feel that it is our right for Zamalek to be the club of the century.”
“We have an Italian lawyer who specializes in international cases for Zamalek, and he will definitely take over the case of the Century Club,” he said at the conclusion of his remarks.
