Turki Al Sheikh, the owner of Spanish club Almeria, blew a resounding surprise after announcing his agreement earlier with Kiki Setien to coach Egypt.
Turki Al-Sheikh spoke about the fact that he previously owned Egypt for Clearing and Misr Club, saying: “I was offered a percentage of about 70% in order to own the clearing club, and I did not have the desire to do so.”
He added in his comments on On Time Sports 2, “As for Masr Club, I was at the stage of my resignation from the honorary presidency of Al-Ahly. I was preparing an alternative plan because I was enjoying the atmosphere in Egypt and liked Egyptian football, and I thought at that time to buy Club Egypt, but the agreement was on the condition that the team remain in the league.” Excellent. “
He continued, “At that time I agreed with Kiki Setien and had already signed in principle the training contracts for Club Egypt. Kiki signed and identified the players he needed and got the list of players in the team.”
And he added, “But at that time he told me that in the event that Barcelona wanted to sign him, he would not continue with me and he would go to Barcelona and I agreed to that, and after 3-4 days Barcelona came to Kiki and left to train the team.”
He continued, saying: “Then the Masr Club project was completely suspended, after I dealt again with the Al-Ahly administration. I said to myself, let the support and spending be in the team that I love.”
Will Turki Al-Sheikh come back to invest in Egyptian football? Turki replied, “Now my focus is in Europe, and my focus on it is an investment.”
He explained, “If I were to come again, it would be from an investment portal in a facility like Al-Ahly Stadium. A project that benefits me and the most attractive thing in Egypt is Al-Ahly.”
