Papi Diouf, a former Olympic club president Marseille, has died from the Coruna virus.
Diouf, who served as president of the French club between 2005 and 2009, was hospitalized in the Senegalese capital, Dakar, after being injured after returning from Côte d’Ivoire.
The 68-year-old Diouf put on a respirator and his condition worsened in the final hours before being transferred to a France hospital for better health care.
Marseille did not achieve during the period of taking guests any titles as he lost the French Cup final twice and finished second in the French League 3 times in a row behind Olympique Lyon.
Senegal has so far registered 175 cases of the virus and 40 people have recovered.
