Cesare Prandelli, the former coach of Italy, revealed that he lost some of his friends due to the Coruna epidemic in his country.
Italy is experiencing a complete state of emergency and a curfew, in the hope of controlling the Corona virus, which has taken fever from Lombardy and the north of the country, as a focal point for it in recent weeks.
“I lost friends because of Corona, it is terrible. All we can do is stay at home and avoid mixing,” Prandelli told Italian radio “Lady”.
He added: “In a small town like my town, Orsinovi, they organized the Pucci (Italian game) match with another village in Lodi, and the outbreak appears to have started from there.”
He continued: “I communicate with my friends and family, some of whom received a positive analysis result and are currently quarantined.”
He stressed: “Staying home for some time is not a great sacrifice for us. Think about those who work in hospitals and have not seen their loved ones for several days.”
“Unfortunately, I think we closed everything up a week late. Now we have to make small sacrifices for the common good.”
He concluded: “Perhaps nature tried to tell us that we are moving at a very fast pace, and that we must refocus our focus.”
Prandelli, 62, coached Italy between 2010 and 2014, and led him to Euro 2012.
Prandelli also supervised several clubs during his long career, most notably: Parma, Rome, Fiorentina, Valencia and Genoa.
