FilGoal | News | Mostafa Fahmy: Ahmed Ahmed made a mistake in the Esperance and Wedad crisis … and this solved the problem

Mostafa Mourad Fahmy, former secretary-general of the Confederation of African Football Confederation (CAF), said that Ahmed Ahmed, the current president of the Confederation of Africa, was wrong to deal with the crisis of Esperance and Wedad in the CAF Champions League final last season.

Mostafa Fahmy spoke to the program “OnTime Stadium” on the channel “OnTime Sports”, saying: “The President of the African Union should not land on the pitch to solve any crisis.”

“In the World Cup, there is a person responsible for any crisis that occurs and meets with a delegate from each team in a closed room to resolve these crises, the value and status of the President of the Federation should not be underestimated.”

He continued, “The solution to the crisis over the lack of video technology before the match started is to print a paper that the video will not work and get the captain of each team to sign it and be handed over to the referee after that.”

“But what happened by informing the two teams verbally will lie to you, and this is what actually happened, and the case is still being heard in the sports court,” he said.

It is reported that Esperance was eventually crowned the title.
