Zamalek coach Patrice Carteron spoke after his team’s victory in the return of the Egyptian league, noting “a new step towards the goal of ensuring access to the African Championship next season.”

“I am happy with the spirit of the players,” Carteron said. “We turned out physically well, especially since we played against a team like Al-Masry that depends more on defense and this requires more physical exertion.
He added in his statements via Al-Zamalek channel, “We certainly did not know the condition of the players before the match, especially since the stoppage lasted for more than 5 months and that was a long time, but in the end we appeared physically well.”
“Three points are very good. A new step to return to second place and reach the Champions League next season.”
He continued his speech by saying: “Participation in the league was not taken into account, but in the end we made the decision and we will play and compete and be on the responsibility level. Our goal is to use the matches and collect the most points and reach the African Championship next season.”
He stressed, “It is not correct that Zamalek will not play in the African Championship next season.”
Carton went on to talk about absences on his team, He pointed out, “The most important thing is that we finished the camp without major injuries, and I thank the medical staff very much for its efforts with us.”
