Egypt national fans – Egypt national team – Nations Cup opening
Abdel Moneim Bah, Secretary-General of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), said that Egypt is able to host the World Cup one day.
Speaking to OnTime Sport 2 on Baht El Thala program, Bah spoke: “The last African Nations Cup was exceptional, on a personal level, I have never seen a lottery or opening ceremony so amazing.”
“I tell you that Egypt is able to host a world event like the World Cup,” he added.
He stressed, “This tournament was the best, with the support of Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi and former president of the Football Association Hani Abu Rida, our revenues from the tournament increased 25%.”
He revealed, “A month before the championship, I had doubts that the Cairo Stadium was ready, but it was wonderfully ready. It was a miracle, a great effort from the Organizing Committee and the Ministry of Sports and the authorities in Egypt.”
He stressed, “At the moment enough, he did not lose much materially due to the Corona crisis. If the current situation ended soon, there will be few losses.”
