Al-Ahly striker Alio Badji revealed the scenes of his joining the Red Fort despite receiving offers from other clubs.
“One of my friends, a goalkeeper coach, spoke to me and asked me about the possibility of signing for Al Ahly,” Badji said on OnTime Sports 1.
“Then Amir Tawfiq, the director of marketing in Al-Ahly, traveled to Austria, met me and told me about the history of the club and its achievements.”
“I knew Essam El-Hadary, the goalkeeping legend, and I remember when he was dancing at the top of the crossbar after winning the African Nations Championships, and also I knew the legend Mohamed Abu Trika.”
He continued with his statements, “I started reading information about Al-Ahly and found that this club is the largest club in Africa and the most culminating in championships and has a rich history and legends.”
“At the time, I had many offers, most notably from the Chinese League, and if I was looking for material benefit, I would go there, but I preferred Al-Ahly,” he said.
Senegalese striker Badji joined Al-Ahly from the Austrian Rapid Vienna in January.
