Born on August 31, 1958, Michel Sauval was on his way to his sixty-second year. He followed a military career for 32 years, notably in the service of the United Nations during external operations (blue helmet) and was decorated with the military value in activity.
Michel Sauval ended his career in the army at the Military Schools of Draguignan (now EMD) where he assumed the presidency of the non-commissioned officers’ association, as chief warrant officer.
Subsequently, he worked for ten years in the central kitchen of Draguignan where he was staff representative.
Passionate about sport and especially cycling, he joined the Vélo club dracénois before hanging the reins as president for 11 years.
A club where his son Maxime and his grandchildren pedaled at the highest level.
During his tenure, he created the cycling school of Draguignan which was very close to his heart.
The cycling world has lost a great man.
Michel’s funeral will take place this Friday, May 15.
At 12:45 pm, ceremony at the Vidauban funeral home; at 2:30 p.m., celebration at Saint-Michel church in Draguignan.
The cremation will follow, again at 4 p.m., in Vidauban.
