(ANSA) – TURIN, 07 OCT – Fox’s biscuits become Italian. A company affiliated with Ferrero today announced the acquisition of the famous British brand from Northern Food Grocery Group Limited. The Ferrero subsidiary will also acquire the Kirkham and Batley plants. Completion of the transaction, subject to the release of legal authorizations and customary closing conditions, is expected in the coming months.
Northern Food Grocery Group Limited is the manufacturer of Fox’s and Rocky cookie brands, as well as other well-loved and prestigious brands. Its history in the British biscuit market dates back to 1853, with a very strong heritage and reputation of the brand among consumers, as well as solid leading positions in every segment of the biscuit category. The business being sold generated a turnover of approximately £ 157 million in the last 12 months.
Through the acquisition, the subsidiary of Ferrero – informs a note – plans to increase its importance in the biscuit category, also following the previous acquisitions of Delacre and Kelsen Group. (HANDLE).
