Ferrari wants to start a turn for the better with the help of the new department

Ferrari responded to the failed three inaugural races of the new Formula 1 season with changes in the technical section, which should bring more efficient work and faster progress. The team will create a performance development department headed by Enrico Cardile. The Italian team wants to improve its position in the Constructors’ Cup as soon as possible, with Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc still in fifth place.

According to Ferrari’s statement, other technical departments will remain unchanged. Enrico Gualtieri will continue to lead the engine development team, Simone Resta will drive the chassis and Laurent Mekies will remain sports director.

“We have made changes to the technical part of the organization to accelerate design and development in car performance,” said Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto.

The head of Ferrari knew they would not be fast. But according to him, it is even worse than they thought in the stable

Ferrari was only once on the podium in the first three races of the season, which started late due to coronavirus. In the opening Austrian Grand Prix at the beginning of June, Leclerc took second place.

The stable has been waiting for the riding title of F1 champion since 2007, when Kimi Räikkönen triumphed. The famous Italian stable last won the Constructors’ Cup a year later.
