Donuts on Fifth Avenue in New York? Sounds dangerous. It is! It hasn’t stopped a Ferrari driver from doing it anyway.
Many drivers seem to believe that no traffic rules apply to them. Two sports car owners in Berlin recently found out that the opposite is the case. Compared to a Ferrari driver in New York, the two were still exemplary. At least they didn’t shoot donuts on Kurfürstendamm.
You read that right. The driver of a matte black Ferrari 488 Pista took advantage of New York’s Fifth Avenue to burn some donuts into the tarmac. He was observed by some passers-by who filmed the spectacle and uploaded it to YouTube.

And what should not be missing from a proper donut? That’s right: burnouts and a lot of smoke associated with them. It is not clear when exactly the incident happened. But the video was probably made in November 2022. At least there is a TikTok post with the video from November 30, 2022.
The action almost went wrong. After the donuts, the Ferrari 488 Pista almost hits a curb before the driver spins the wheels on Fith Avenue. In the opposite direction of travel, of course. What makes the action even worse: there were passers-by on the sidewalk. If the driver had misjudged or lost control of the sports car, there would probably have been injuries.
Ferrari turns donuts – New York police as a role model?
It’s quite possible that the Ferrari 488 Pista wasn’t the only one turning donuts on Fifth Avenue. At the end of the video, he can be seen stopping next to a bright red Lamborghini Aventador. This is also against the direction of travel on a pedestrian crossing.
