A Turkish atmosphere will be evoked on August 11, i.e. this Friday, from 6 p.m. in the Venence-tavi Gallery in Gárdony. This time, the members of the Canlar band will bring a show to the exhibition space. Judit Jablonkay, Roland Kasza and the band’s founder, the Klaniczay Prize-winning Turkologist Balázs Sudár 16-17. bring 19th century Turkish classical music to the audience of the region. The Budapest ensemble, founded in 1997, performs instrumental pieces – pesrevs, semas, dervish dances – and selects from the gems of contemporary Turkish vocal poetry. They have already performed their show in Transylvania and the Highlands, the interesting thing about which is that they recall a complete Mevlevi dervish ceremony with Turkish classical music performed in the traditional order and the dance of waltzing dervishes.
