Calderón clarified to Loret de Mola that for the next congressional elections, in 2021 and there is an 80% probability that his name does not appear on the ballots, “the idea is to place citizens, new, young, fresh people who are honest and capable, ”he said.

Calderón admitted that it would affect the new party in process, however, he said that the security strategy in his government did not depend on a single person, but was a shared responsibility of the cabinet he headed.

He also accepted that he was surprised by his arrest and the process he is carrying out in the United States, since he assured that he was praised by the authorities of that country by having an official like him in charge of the country’s security.

“García Luna was an official who had passed all the controls of all the security institutions in Mexico and the institutions of the United States. Those are the data, but Genaro will have to prove his innocence, ”he said.

On the future of Mexico Llibre, the former president indicated that he will await the resolution of the National Electoral Institute and that his interest is to create a strong, serious and responsible opposition.
