Fel Schalke finally wins: ‘Everyone left the field with dirty pants’ | NOW

The relief is great at Schalke 04 now that after thirty games they have finally won again in the Bundesliga. ‘Die Königsblauen’ defeated Hoffenheim 4-0 on Saturday to escape a dramatic record.

Schalke’s last competition victory was dated January 17 last year. In another game without a win, Tasmania Berlin’s Bundesliga record, which failed to win 31 consecutive times in the 1965/66 season, was matched.

According to left back Sead Kolasinac, who returned from Arsenal this winter and immediately became captain of Schalke, his team’s zest for work made the difference in the game against Hoffenheim.

“The white shorts of all my teammates were completely dirty. That’s exactly what we need and what we want to see,” said the 27-year-old Bosnian. “Yet this is only one more victory, as we emphasized in the dressing room.”

‘We finally attacked’

Trainer Christian Gross was of course also very happy with the long-awaited victory. The game of his team also appealed to the experienced Swiss, who recently relieved interim coach Huub Stevens at Schalke.

“The nice thing about this match was that, especially in the second half, we could finally attack and played in half of the opponent. We want to continue that. Even though there was a lot with it, I don’t want to detract from this victory.”

Thanks to the rare victory, Schalke is no longer at the bottom of the league in the Bundesliga. The club from Gelsenkirchen is still looking bad with only seven points from fifteen games.
