Federica Brignone attacks Shiffrin and cleans lakes and seas

Federica Brignone (29) is all about water. No matter whether in frozen or liquid form. The cheeky Italian is one of the best skiers in the world. And even in summer she likes to ride the wave of happiness while wakeboarding. “I’m full of power and love to do sports all day,” she says. But watch out! Brignone almost always looks as if she could embrace the whole world – but she also has her thoughtful moments. The Milanese native is particularly concerned with climate change and pollution. That is exactly why she founded the “Traiettorie liquide” project. The goal: she wants to sensitize people to their beloved element of water.

For this, Brignone jumped into the sea in full ski gear in Lipari. The pictures that were shot north of Sicily were startling. «Unfortunately fish, turtles and other sea creatures suffocate from plastic. Or they get tangled up and die. We have to end this catastrophe. ”Brignone visits school classes in summer, gives lectures and takes action with children – diving for rubbish and collecting rubbish on the beach. «I am concerned with the topic. And children are the first to understand that things cannot go on like this. »

Brignone is aware that their commitment cannot solve all environmental problems. But for the ecological struggle, she is ready to use her reputation. And this is still increasing – not only in Italy.
