Fearing Russia Invasion of Ukraine, US Considers Sending Deadly Aid Packages

WASHINGTON United States of America (US) considering sending military advisers and new equipment including weaponry to Ukraine . It was done because of Washington’s concerns over a potential invasion Russia to Ukraine increased.

Discussions about the proposed lethal aid package came after Ukraine warned that an invasion could occur as soon as January.

Air defense systems, such as the Stinger missile, are also being considered and the US Department of Defense has urged that some to be sent to Afghanistan, such as Mi-17 helicopters, be sent to Ukraine. According to retired US soldiers, Lieutenant Colonel Cedric Leighton told CNN that the Javelin anti-tank missiles are quite effective against the T-80 tanks that Russia is actually using in its current fight against Ukraine. But he noted that any additional aid to Ukraine undoubtedly risked further escalating tensions with Moscow.

White House Secretary Jen Psaki when asked about Russia’s military activity said: “The US government is concerned and has had extensive interactions with our European allies and partners in recent weeks, including with Ukraine.”

“The US has also held discussions with Russian officials about Ukraine and US-Russia relations in general,” he added.
