FC Twente brings Lazaros Lamprou back to the Eredivisie, Greek media report. The club has reached a lease with PAOK Saloniki.
According to Sport24 Lamprou gets on a plane on Friday to finalize his return to the Dutch fields. Reportedly, FC Twente also has the option to take over after this season.
Lamprou, 22, is a friend of Fortuna Sittard. That club already rented it from PAOK in 2017. In Sittard, he quickly emerged as a tastemaker by scoring seven goals in 24 Eredivisie matches. With this, Lamprou aroused interest from several Eredivisie clubs. Lamprou’s contract in Greece will continue for two more years, until the summer of 2022. He came to ten matches for PAOK last season. In it, he scored twice.
Earlier this summer, Twente captured Gijs Smal (FC Volendam) and mercenaries Kik Pierie (Ajax), Vaclav Cerny (FC Utrecht) and Nathan Markelo (Everton). Danilo Pereira (also from Ajax) is also on his way to Enschede.
