Hamza Mendyl seems to have found a new club. According to the Belgian daily Het Nieuwsblad, the left-back has joined Oud-Heverlee Leuven with immediate effect and has signed for three years. The medical examinations have already been completed.
Mendyl had previously been released by FC Schalke 04 for talks with another club. According to initial findings, the 24-year-old has terminated his employment agreement with the miners, which was valid until 2023.

It has long been clear that Mendyl will no longer play a role in Schalke’s plans and should leave the club this summer. The 20-time Moroccan international has been on loan to Dijon FCO and most recently to Gaziantep FK in Turkey in recent years.
