FC Schaffhausen must continue to hope for a license

UPDATE:

The Swiss news agency Keystone-SDA announced on Tuesday that the FCS had received a license. However, neither Roland Klein, owner of FC Schaffhausen, nor the Swiss Football League (SFL) could confirm this. The original message:

FC Schaffhausen has received the license for the 2021/22 season in the Challenge League in the second instance from the Appeals Committee of the Swiss Football League (SFL). This is reported by the Keystone-SDA news agency. The FCS was initially denied the right to play for financial and infrastructural reasons, primarily because of unresolved questions regarding rent in the Schaffhausen stadium. A corresponding arbitration procedure between the stadium lessor and FC Schaffhausen is pending.

The other 19 clubs in the two top Swiss leagues had received the license in the first instance – as did Yverdon-Sport, the designated promoter from the Promotion League. (rd)
