FC Red Bull Salzburg wins a friendly against SV Ried in Taxham 3-1 – Bundesliga

Admiral Bundesliga-Leader FC Red Bull Salzburg and sixth in the table SV Guntamatic Ried drew 3-1 (1-1) in the test match at the Taxham training center on Tuesday afternoon. Benjamin Šeško, Karim Adeyemi and Oumar Solet scored for the Red Bulls led by coach Matthias Jaissle, while Nikola Stošić, who was born in Salzburg, scored the equalizer for the Innviertel side.

Both teams from Salzburg and Upper Austria have already faced each other twice in the league this autumn. While for the Vikings with their courageous, offensive style of play on August 1st in the first duel in the regular round in the Red Bull Arena in Wals-Siezenheim “the shot backfired” and the Rieder “got under the wheels” with 1:7 , they defied the favorites from the Mozart city in the second leg on October 30th in the home Josko Arena in an exciting match towards the end with a 2:2.

If the table leader of the Admiral Bundesliga meets the table sixth in a test match, this promises a duel on a rather high level. This encounter was able to do justice to this with a quite brisk pace. The first opportunity for the Red Bulls came from Dorgeles Nene, who volleyed wide of the goal (4′). “New Year’s” goalscorer on duty Benjamin Šeško, the 18-year-old Slovenian scored four times in the first test match in 2022 against SKU Amstetten 6-0) and then gave the Red Bulls the lead (15th). After a nice Aaronson pass, the youngster dropped Ried goalie Wendlinger and pushed in to make it 1-0 or his fifth goal in a friendly.

But Nikola Stošić, who was born in Salzburg (the 21-year-old Serb came from FC Liefering to the Innviertler in February 2021) immediately equalized for SVR, who played 1-1 in the first friendly against second-division Forward Steyr on Saturday ( 16.). The Salzburg defense acted too hesitantly. The Upper Austrians then repeatedly caused danger in front of the goal of keeper Nico Mantl. On the Salzburg side, Junior Adamu missed the great opportunity to make it 2-1.

After the break, trainer Matthias Jaissle let the young bulls play – the birth of Adyemi

The average age of the team that started the second half was only 19.7 years for Matthias Jaissle’s team. And they also got off to a brilliant start, as they had recently done against SKU Amstetten. In the 48th minute, Karim Adeyemi, who is now 20, converted an Okafor cross pass to make it 2-1 and thus scored a goal for his birthday. Ten minutes later Adeyemi and Maurits Kjaergaard failed with a double great chance. The Red Bulls had another double chance in the 64th minute. First, Max Wöber missed a free-kick from Kjaergaard, before Adeyemi ran alone towards the Rieder goal, but didn’t put the ball there. The 3-1 final result came from a standard situation. After a free-kick from Kjaergaard, Oumar Solet pushed the Wöber template over the line. An additional positive aspect after the break was that the young squad not only acted dangerously offensively, but also hardly allowed anything defensively.

VOICES AFTER THE GAME:

Head coach Matthias Jaissle: “Ried was already a good opponent in the championship. That’s why I’m happy with today’s win, it was a very decent game from us. After all, we’re in the middle of the preparations, and our legs are a little tired. In the second half we had a team on the pitch that was under 20 years old on average and everyone showed what they could do.”

Karim Adeyemi: “It wasn’t easy today because Ried can play football very well and made life quite difficult for us. But in the end it was a good test against good opponents and we’re happy. For me personally, my goal today was a nice present for my 20th birthday.”

After both teams diligently made use of the friendly substitution quota, the Red Bulls took the lead again immediately after the break thanks to the Admiral Bundesliga’s top scorer, Karim Adeyemi (46′). Before central defender Oumar Solet (75th min.) made it 3-1.
