WHAT HAPPENED? FC Barcelona is apparently thinking about trying to attract offensive player Angel Di Maria from Juventus Turin. That reports Relief.
WHAT IS THE BACKGROUND? Di Maria’s contract with Juve expires at the end of June. According to information from GOAL and SPOX the Italians and the world champions will part ways at the end of the season, so Di Maria can make a free transfer in the summer.
How Relief writes, Barça had put out feelers to Di Maria last year before he moved to Turin. Now the Catalans could dare a more concrete push, although they are said to have not yet negotiated with each other.
A potential Camp Nou engagement could certainly be made even more palatable for Di Maria with a Lionel Messi return to the Blaugrana. The two Argentines are known to be good friends.
