In order to balance the books, FC Barcelona has to hand over some of its aging or injury-prone players with partly massive salaries.
To be able to sign striker Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan in the next transfer window, FC Barcelona is, according to information from goal and SPOX ready to talk to almost all players. Due to the corona pandemic, the club will probably not be able to meet the required 111 million euros transfer fee for Martinez and would therefore listen to offers for every manager except Lionel Messi, Frenkie de Jong and Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Possible transfer candidates include Ousmane Dembele and Antoine Griezmann, two players who are among the largest transfers during President Josep Maria Bartomeu’s term. While with Dembele his constant injuries in particular are decisive for the club’s willingness to part with him, with Griezmann there are tactical concerns that the attacker fits the beloved 4-3-3 system.
Coutinho’s return gives Barcelona a headache
Regarding Griezmann, the incumbent Spanish champion would be willing to talk with an offer of 120 million euros. At Dembele, Barca has already prepared not to be able to achieve the transfer fee of 105 million euros at the time, but so far there are no offers for the 23-year-old. Even with the injury-prone Samuel Umtiti, other clubs are currently not ready to take a risk.
A top priority for the club is a transfer from Philippe Coutinho, who is currently on loan to Bayern Munich but will return to Catalonia in the summer. Barca therefore prays that a Premier League club is interested in the 27-year-old. But the financial consequences of the corona pandemic can also be felt in the English House of Lords, so that no offer has yet been received for Coutinho – whom Barca would draw in the region of 80 million euros.
