san Jose Father Kills Son, Then Dies in Police Shooting

San Jose, CA – A father in San Jose, identified as Dzierbun, fatally stabbed his young son before being killed by police in what authorities are calling a “suicide by cop” incident. The tragic event unfolded in a local park, leaving investigators searching for answers.

According to San Jose Police Chief Anthony Joseph, officers responded to a scene where they found Dzierbun hunched over his bloodied son, armed with a large knife and also covered in blood. The chief described the father’s actions as a “twisted plan to force officers to shoot him, a final desperate and selfish act, suicide by cop.”

Despite repeated pleas from officers to drop the weapon and allow them to provide aid to the child, Dzierbun refused. He made several statements indicating his desire to be shot. When officers resolute they could no longer wait to reach the boy, Dzierbun stood up, raised the knife, and charged at them. This action prompted officers to open fire. Dzierbun later died from his injuries at a hospital.Tragically, when officers were finally able to reach the child, he was already deceased. A bandana had been covering the boy’s face, and Chief Joseph stated that the child’s injuries were so severe that he could not adequately describe them. The identity of the boy has not yet been released.

Investigators have found no prior documented history of mental illness, previous contact with San Jose police, or reports of domestic violence or restraining orders involving Dzierbun. Detectives are currently working to retrace his movements, as he had moved around the country, and are seeking to understand his motive for choosing the park and carrying out the killing.

“I don’t ever remember a parent murdering their child so brutally. I don’t remember a lot of homicides as violent and brutal as this one,” Chief Joseph remarked.

The San Jose Police Department press conference provided the source for this information.
