Father of Shraddha Satish demands justice for daughter’s death in Amal Jyoti College hostel

Shraddha Satish, SFI activists protest in front of the college office

Kochi: Satish, the father of Shraddha, who committed suicide at Kanjirapally Amal Jyoti College Hostel, has demanded strict action against those responsible, whoever investigates her daughter’s death. The general public should understand how much the students are suffering in a college where there is no student movement. He was reacting to Minister R Bindu’s statement that the investigation into the case related to Shraddha’s death has been handed over to the Crime Branch.

No investigation has been conducted against those responsible for the death of the daughter who died in the college hostel. The police say that they are not there. The police said that there is no CCTV camera in the college hostel, but when I said that I saw it, the police said that they did not see it. No investigation is being conducted against the accused. Instead, they took away her daughter’s mobile phone and laptop. Our statement was taken. Now the police have tried to make us responsible for the death of our daughter. The minister said that the investigation has been handed over to the crime branch. “Whoever investigates, those responsible for my daughter’s death should be found and they should be punished,” Shraddha’s father Satish said.

Many of the words spoken by the college hostel warden are unspeakable. When we heard about all the things in the college, we thought that somehow it would be enough to come after the course. She calls her mother every morning when she wakes up. The college authorities say that he was not ready to talk to his mother the day before he died. “All children are afraid,” he said.

Friends said that after taking the phone, she was called to the HOD’s room. When she came out, she said that it is enough to die if you don’t want to live anymore. Shraddha was a person who was against suicide. Shraddha had to stand on her own feet and live without depending on anyone else. Shraddha’s father asks if a child with such a mental state would think of suicide, she must have been harassed so much.

Ernakulam Thripunithura native Shraddha Satish was found dead in the Kanjirapally Engineering College hostel a few days ago. Shraddha was a second year food technology student. According to the college authorities, he may have committed suicide because of the trouble of finding out that he was using a mobile phone. But the family alleged that there were bad interventions on the part of the college authorities.

Minister R Bindu said that the investigation into Shraddha’s death has been handed over to Crime Branch. The crime branch investigation will be led by DYSP.
