The calls for appeasement have apparently been listened to in the Beaudottes district of Sevran (Seine-Saint-Denis), as in the housing estates of neighboring towns. Since Saturday March 26, urban violence had erupted in response to the death of Jean-Paul Benjamin. This 30-year-old died of a bullet in the shoulder blade, fired by a police officer from the anti-crime brigade (BAC) of Aulnay-sous-Bois when checking a vehicle reported as stolen.
