The family says goodbye to the actress in a narrow circle, but the fans will not lose the opportunity to light a candle for the artist.
Actress Blanka Bohdanová died on Sunday, October 3, at the age of 91. The holder of the Thalia Award and two František Filipovský Awards died on Sunday in the morning in one of the Prague hospitals. The funeral will take place in a family circle, but the public will not lose the opportunity to light a candle for the actress.
Blanka Bohdanová has been a member of the National Theater drama since the 1960s. And that’s where people can come. “We have agreed with the family and we have a place of reverence near the theater. A black mourning banner hangs in the building of the National Theater and there is a space where photos of Mrs. Bohdanová are displayed and the public can light candles,” said National Theater spokesman Tomáš Staněk.
Blanka Bohdanová has devoted herself not only to theater, but audiences also know her from television screens, she has dozens of films to her credit. These include the comedies Christening, The Great Movie Robbery or When Divorce, then Divorce, the dramas Vintage, The Treasure of Count Chamaré and Bastardi, or the fairy tale How to Deserve a Princess.
She has also appeared in a number of series, such as We All Compulsory to School, The Third Floor, Life at the Castle or Náves. He has also had a rich career in dubbing. In 1996 she received the František Filipovský Award for dubbing in the film The Driver of Miss Daisy, a year later she received the same award, this time for a lifetime championship. In 2001, she received the Thalia Theater Award in the drama category for her role as Fonsie in the performance Genie.
